Implications of quantum teaching Method on Student Results on Biological Subjects in Class XI of Poigar 1 Senior High School

ABSTRACT

Indra F. X. Rompas, SRN : 08 312 273, The Implications of quantum teaching Method on Student Results on Biological Subjects in Class XI of Poigar 1 Senior High School, adviced by: Dra. D. F. Pendong, M.Pd and Y. S. Mokosuli, S.Si, M.Si. Biology Department, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Manado State University. March 2012. This study aims to determine how huge the improvement of  student learning outcomes in Biology subject with the application of the quantum teaching method.
This research was conducted on Class XI of Poigar 1 Senior High School, Bolaang Mongondow. The independent variables is the application of quantum teaching method and the dependent variable is the student learning outcomes. The research was conducted in class XI IPA1 as the experimental class and class XI IPA2 as well as the control class, then the rotation was done to both  classes with the subject Respiratory System. This study utilizes the model of randomized control group pre test post test design.
The results showed that the average value of student learning outcomes in the post-test experiment is higher, which obtained 8.43 and 8.29, whereas the controls are only reached 5.93 and 6.63. The Hypothesis test of T test from the result process with SPSS programe with 95% confidence level, obtained Sig. (2-tailed) = 0. For the Sig. Based on the results above, it can be concluded that the quantum teaching method is one of the approach of learning which can improve the student learning outcomes, than it is expected that the teachers apply the quantum teaching methods in teaching and learning, especially on the biology subject.
